Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,350m)

Welcome to Nepal for an amazing Manaslu Circuit Tsum Valley Trek in Nepal. Our airport representative will receive you in the airport and transfer you to an agreed hotel. You can have quality time to spend on your own according to your flight time where you can explore the marketplace to do last minute shopping. Day 02

Drive to Machha Khola (869 m)

Early in the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel by our trekking guide and transfer to bus park for a bus to Machha Khola or we may use private jeep. It depends upon the choice of transport options. We will begin our jeep drive before breakfast if we are taking private transport and if we are taking the local bus, then we will travel through Benighat. The transportation depends upon the travel options agreed during the trip booking. We will travel on the banks of Budi Gandaki River. Upon reaching Machha Khola, we will check in our lodge and you can explore this small village on the banks of the river. Overnight in a tea house
Day 03

Trek to Jagat village (1340 m)

Today is the first day of the trek. We will begin the trek after breakfast. Our trekking guide will start the trek after short physical stretching. The trail is mainly on a road which is off roading and it is still under construction. Few trekking companies have started the trek from Jagat but it is not safe to use jeep drive directly to Jagat from Kathmandu. On the way to Jagat, we will have lunch in either Eklebhatti or Thulo Dhunga. Today’s highlights are the terraced farmlands, streams, hamlets, forests, and gigantic hills. Upon reaching the village, you will check in the tea house and the guide will head to the check post to verify all permits. Additionally, the guide will buy the Tsum Nubri or Chhumnubri Rural Municipality entry permit in the same day. It is to avoid long queue the next day for smooth trekking. Overnight in a tea house
Day 04

Trek to Lokpa (2240 m)

We will start the trek after breakfast. The first phase is in the Nepalese flat section until Philim village with a short uphill section. Note down that we will walk along the banks of Budi Gandaki River full or side tributaries, waterfalls, and terraced farmlands. We will stop in Chisapani Village for lunch before continuing the trek to Lokpa. The trail is on the balcony setting along the banks of the river. Finally, we will have to walk uphill for about an hour to reach Lokpa Village including 15 to 20 minutes of Nepalese flat trail walking. Overnight in a tea house
Day 05

Trek to Chumling village (2386 m)

After breakfast, we will begin the trek. For about half an hour, we will have to walk downhill in the landslide area and then walk about 1.5 hours of uphill before meeting downhill – Nepalese flat trail towards the village of Chumling. Along the way, we will be walking through smaller villages, authentic remote terraced farmlands, and traditional chortens. Day 06

Trek to Chhekamparo village (3031 m)

We will visit another densely populated Tsum and Nubri People. As we walk on the trail, we will notice that we are walking in the different environment. The world seems so different from this day onwards. You will surely be walking in a completely different setting where you get to know about people who are unknown to the chaotic city life. Today’s trek is mostly uphill as we gain around 700 m. Once you are in the village, you can explore and talk with the locals. Traditional Tibetan culture is evident in every house of the region. Day 07

Trek to Nile village (3361 m)

If you book the Tsum Valley Trek package, then today’s destination is the final but we are on the long detour trek inside the Manaslu region Nepal. Therefore, today’s trek completes the first phase of the trek in terms of destination. We will walk on the Nepalese gentle flat trail with gradual increase in the altitude. Traditional villages, chortens, monasteries, stupas, and mane walls are present throughout the trail. Upon reaching the village, you can explore and talk with the elders about the history, religious significances, and myths. There are many legends about Milarepa Monks including Padmasambha himself. Hike to Mu Gompa (3700 m); Trek back to Chhekamparo (3031 m)

We will begin the trek early in the morning before dawn to meet the original itinerary that we have set. It’s a long day of trekking as we visit the oldest monastery of the region including return trek to Chhekamparo. Before we retrace the same trail back to Chhekamparo, we will visit the most sacred monastery of the region, Mu Gompa (3700 m) monastery. There are lots of nuns who study and follow traditional Tibetan Buddhism along the way. After visiting the monastery, we will return back to Nile Village where we will have lunch or check out. It depends upon the itinerary and daily trekking conditions. Please note that our trekking guide will decide about the pace of the trek. Once we are in Chhekamparo, we will explore the village and learn about the region in the best possible way. Overnight in a tea house
Day 09

Trek to Lokpa (2240 m)

We will retrace the same trail back to Lokpa Village from Chhekamparo via Chumling Village. On this day, we will experience more about the region as we descend rather than ascending into higher elevation places. Overnight in a tea house

Trek to Deng (1860 m)

Throughout the day, we will descend and exit the Tsum Valley area on this day. We will join the Manaslu Circuit Trek route on this day. The trail traverses through terraced farmlands, pine forests, and smaller hamlets. Once we join the Manaslu Circuit Trek route, we will follow the class Manaslu Trek after immense cultural immersion in the unique Tsum Nubri villages of the region. Overnight in a tea house

Trek to Namrung village (2630 m)

We will continue in more commercial and well - maintained trekking route from this day onwards. Note down that the Tsum Valley Trek route area is mostly remote and full of raw attractions. Trek to Shyala village (3500 m)

Trek to Samagaon village (3530 m) via Pungyen Gompa

We will reach the most iconic village on the Manaslu Circuit Trek route. Before we head towards the village of Samagaon, we will take a side trip to the iconic monastery, the Pungyen Monastery. It is off the trail which we will visit and spend about 15 to 20 minutes. You don’t need to pay the entry fee but you can choose to donate to the monastery. If you are planning to do puja ceremony, then you can tell the company to arrange for this amazing activity. After spending time in the monastery, we will retrace the same trail back to the main trail. We will continue our journey to Samagaon Village. Day 14

Hike to Manaslu Base Camp (4800 m) via Birendra Lake (3900 m) for acclimatization

The most crucial day of the Manaslu Circuit Tsum Valley Trek in Nepal is today. We will begin our trek early in the morning after quick early breakfast. The trekking crew members will pack the lunch items as we will have lunch on the way as there are no lunch places on the route to the Manaslu Base Camp. At first, we will visit the Birendra Lake. The lake is on the foothills of mountains and it is blue turquoise in color. It offers the best experiences of the alpine Himalayan environment. Some trekkers choose to trek up to this lake only skipping the Manaslu Base Camp Hike. Note down that we have to walk in steep uphill vertical trail all the way to the Manaslu Base Camp (4800 m). Trek to Samdo village (3860 m)

Comparatively, today’s trek is shorter than the average trekking distance during the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal. Once we reach Samdo village, we will do check in the tea house and in the afternoon after lunch, we will hike the Samdo Ri Peak for another acclimatization activity. If you wish, you can also allocate another day in the place to explore the Tibetan border from the region. We can reach the Tibetan border in about 8 to 9 hours of round trip. Please note that the trail is rugged and it is in the higher elevation place. Day 16

Trek to Dharmasala (4460 m)

Today is also the short trekking day on this amazing Manaslu Circuit Trek. We will walk to the Dharmasala which is the last overnight destination before crossing Larke La Pass. Day 17

Trek to Bimthang (3700 m) via Larke La Pass (5106 m)

Finally, the most iconic day of the Manaslu Circuit Trek in Nepal is the crossing of the Larke La Pass. After the long detour in Manaslu that includes Tsum Valley, we will experience the higher elevation mountain pass crossing. We will begin the trek early in the morning before dawn! At around 4 am, you will be served breakfast and we will start the trek. The first phase is rocky and rugged but we will meet the snow-covered section as we near the top of the pass. Relish the scenery of mountains and valleys from the top. After spending certain time at the top, we will descend down to Bimthang Village.
Day 18

Trek to Tilje; Drive to Besisahar same day

We will start our trek after breakfast from Bimthang Village. Once we reach Tilje, we will have lunch and then book the local jeep back to Besisahar Village. Drive to Kathmandu
